Millions of People Happy

Michelle C. Moode's work is an exploration of the non-linear nature of memory. The repetitive nature of her processes, (printmaking, mark-making, sewing) facilitate a meditative mind-wandering, thus each finished piece becomes a record of her thoughts. She is interested in souvenirs, collections, and ephemera from everyday adventures.

She will be selling small mixed-media works-on-paper and hand-bound books.

She grew up in Downey, California and Murray, Kentucky and received her BFA in Printmaking from Murray State University in 2003. She received her MFA from West Virginia University in 2007. At WVU, she pursued printmaking, bookbinding, installation, and taking watches apart.

Michelle currently lives in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles. She teaches printmaking at Cal State Northridge, bookbinding workshops here-and-there, and spends much of her free time drawing pictures and drinking cups of tea.
